The Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with our passport/visa system. This issue is worldwide and is not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category. We apologize to applicants who are experiencing delays or are unable to obtain a passport, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, or visa at this time. We are working urgently to correct the problem and expect our system to be fully operational again soon.

Please note that the call center hours during the Holy Month of Ramadan will be 7 am to 4 pm Cairo time (or 1 am to 10 am EST) for callers from the region and 7 am to 10 am EST for calls from the U.

Special Notice to Members of Special Olympics Delegation:

The MRV fees (visa application fees) for the members of delegations traveling to the United States for the 2014 Special Olympics Summer Games Invitational and the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games will be waived.   Delegation members include athletes, coaches, judges, doctors, and spokespersons.  Those requiring visas will need to complete all other visa processing requirements.  To apply for a visa as a delegation member for the Special Olympics please contact the call center
