The U.S. Embassy understands that many visa applicants have paid the visa application processing fee and are still waiting to schedule a visa appointment.  We are working diligently to restore all routine visa operations as quickly and safely as possible.  In the meantime, rest assured that the U.S. Embassy will extend the validity of your payment (known as the MRV fee) until December 31, 2021, to allow all applicants who were unable to schedule a visa appointment as a result of the suspension of routine consular operations an opportunity to schedule and/or attend a visa appointment with the already paid fee.  Please continue to monitor this site for information on when we will return to routine visa operations.

Given the suspension of routine visa processing due to the COVID-19 pandemic and under the restrictions of Presidential Proclamation 10014, as of December 1, 2020, U.S. Embassy Beirut can only schedule emergency and mission-critical cases, including IR/CR1, IR/CR2, IR/IH3, IR/IH4, K1s, SQ/SI-SIVs, certain employment-based healthcare professionals, students, and cases involving an applicant who is aging out of eligibility.  Please see these notices that contain detailed information about the current status of visa services worldwide and visa restrictions related to the COVID-19 global pandemic:

Applicants who need to travel for emergency reasons may request expedited appointments via their profile for expedite requests. All emergency appointment requests must include documentation to support the reason for urgent travel. The Consular Section will consider requests for emergency appointments on a case-by-case basis.
