Overview

Once your visa is approved, your passport and visa will be delivered to you by U.S. Visa document delivery locations operated by VFS Global and held for you to pick up at the address you specified when you scheduled your interview. There are no extra fees associated with this service - the cost for holding your passport is included in the visa application fee.

Applicants, who would like their documents to be delivered to their home/ office can opt for Premium delivery service. The fee for this Premium delivery service is 15 USD (in Russian Rubles at the applicable exchange rate) per applicant.

Change Delivery Options

You may change your preferred document delivery address online or through the call center until midnight on the day of your interview appointment. There is no cost to change your delivery preferences.

Premium Delivery Option

Domestic delivery services to applicant’s address are available as a premium service. To opt the Premium Delivery service applicants needs to choose this option in their personal account. When your passport is released from the Embassy or Consulate, you will be contacted over a phone call and instructed on how to make a payment for the service via payment link. The payment link will be sent to you by email. The fee for this Premium delivery service is 15 USD (in Russian Rubles at the applicable exchange rate) per applicant. Once the payment is done by the applicant, the passport will be sent via Fox Express courier to the applicant’s address specified in the profile of the applicant. Courier company will make 3 attempts with prior call notification to deliver the passport to the applicant. If the courier company will not be able to deliver passport due to applicant’s unavailability it will be returned to the US Embassy/ Consulate as an unwanted document. The fee for delivery service will not be refunded to the applicant.

Passport Tracking Options

Instant: Enter your passport number below to check on the status. If your passport is ready for pick-up, please bring supporting documents and collect it in a timely manner. If your passport is not collected within 15 business days it will be sent back to the Embassy or Consulate.

Email: Send an email to passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com and in the subject and/or body enter a valid passport number exactly as it was entered at the time the appointment was scheduled, and you will receive an automatic response with the status.

Premium Delivery service tracking:Passports sent using Premium delivery service to applicant’s address can be tracked using any of the above-mentioned options. Also, such passports may be tracked on the website of the vendor here using Air Way Bill number of the shipment. Courier company will make 3 attempts with prior call notification to deliver the passport to the applicant. If the courier company will not be able to deliver passport due to applicant’s unavailability it will be returned to the US Embassy/ Consulate as an unwanted passport. The fee for delivery service will not be refunded to the applicant.

Supporting Documents

To collect your passport you must present your original (not a photocopy) government-issued photo ID. We recommend you also bring a printed copy of your appointment letter.

If a representative is collecting your passport from the document collection office on your behalf - even in case of family members - the representative must present:

  • Their own original government-issued photo ID for identification
  • A photocopy of your government-issued photo ID
  • A letter of authority, signed by you, authorizing your representative to collect your passport. The letter of authority must contain the following information:
    • Your representative's full name as shown on their government-issued photo ID
    • Your name

If the applicant is under the age of 18, the following documents are required:

  • An original, signed letter of authority from either of the applicant's parents
  • A clear photocopy of the government-issued photo ID belonging to the parent who signed the applicant's letter of authority
  • The representative's original government-issued photo ID
  • If the passport of the under aged applicant is collected by one of the parents, the parent will need to provide the original of the parent’s internal passport with an appropriate record in Children section of the passport, confirming that the person is a parent of this applicant. Alternatively the parent can show the original of child’s birth certificate, which would indicate the same.
    Note: In case of a group/family, a single letter of authority with the required information for each of the applicants will be accepted.

    Applicants between the ages of 14 and 18 can collect their own documents with written approval from parents. Applicants under the age of 18 cannot collect documents on behalf of another applicant.
